New Home Handover Inspection (PCI)
Finish strong – ensure your new home is built right before you move in
Service Description
Your new home is almost complete—but before you receive the keys, a Handover Inspection (also called a Practical Completion Inspection or PCI) gives you peace of mind that everything is finished to standard, specification, and quality. At Oz Building & Pest Inspections, we conduct thorough handover inspections to help you identify any incomplete, defective, or poor-quality workmanship before final payments are made. This empowers you to request rectifications while the builder is still contractually obligated to fix them. Our inspection covers: - Internal and external finishes (walls, floors, ceilings, paintwork, cabinetry, tiling) - Doors, windows, and locks - Plumbing fixtures and fittings - Electrical fittings (power points, lights, switches – visually checked only) - Roofing, guttering, insulation (if visible) - Garage doors, driveways, fencing and landscaping (if included in the contract) - Fixtures, fittings, appliances (where installed) - Safety issues and compliance with acceptable industry tolerances - Cosmetic and workmanship defects We inspect your home against building best practices and the Victorian Guide to Standards and Tolerances, helping ensure your builder completes the project to the expected level of quality. A clear, photographic report will be provided within 24-48 hours, listing all identified issues so you can forward them directly to your builder for rectification.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a 30% cancellation fee.
